Interview with an attendee of the fest
I interviewed a frequent festival attender and the main takeaways were insightful. They said Ren Fest is unique in its ability to be fully immersive and full of activities. Its a community of people who love dressing up and embracing the spirit of the fest. They talked about how the themed weekends are important and give people excuses to go multiple times.
Renaissance Festivals have themed weekends, shows, food, tastings, rides, activities, and shopping. The Louisiana Ren Fest usually happens in the fall for 6 weekends. Everything is designed to be medival and most shops are selling hand made goods. Many people dress in costume or medival clothes for a fun time at the faire grounds.
Color Palette
Concept
The color Palette is taken from the logo and its bright colors create a warm inviting feeling and festival energy.
This promotional video invites attendants using a scroll from the King and Queen of the faire. It takes viewers on a journey through all the themed weekends, giving them all the information needed to plan ahead and get excited for this year’s festivities.
Concept Statement
Using parchment paper, the medieval aesthetic mimics an old scroll. Using fabric patterns and gold leaf the compositions are meant to reference illuminated manuscripts.
