Research

Dropout used to be a company called College Humor. They started making scripted skits and unscripted content on youtube and when the company was dropped from InterActiveCorp, Sam Reich took over and created dropout.tv. A streaming service where original comedy content is created produced and distributed. They still post some content on youtube to be accessible to people without a pay wall.

Some iconic moments from dropout include Sam Reich’s catchphrase from the show Game Changer, “I’ve been here the whole time”. The personalities of the actors like Grant O’Brian and Brennan Lee Mulligan are beloved among fans of the company. Their improv content whether in a game show or a role playing game is some of the best comedy professionally produced.

History and iconic moments

The song is “Happy Halloween” by The Vivisectors. I took the audio from one of Dropout’s old shows where Brennan Lee Mulligan plays the villain for the laugh at the beginning. At the end I overlayed a recording of Sam Reich saying his iconic line from Game Changer.

Concept

Dropout has multiple halloween episodes on various shows. This ad is Halloween themed to promote the service during the fall season. Each show has its own logo and I created a Halloween version of each.
